'stupid stupid' or 'love and art'

So, it's a week later. I'm back at the computer lab and I'm still not doing my homework. I still need to get my internet at home hooked up. Don't know how I managed to get through 5 weeks of school without it.

But I'd rather go shopping. I did some online a few minutes ago. I ordered some vegetarian cookbooks from amazon. I checked out the vintage tees at the RedCross website (again), and looked at some art supplies on various sites. And I looked up directions to a store Eleanor and Hayden want to go to (they'll be calling me in a few minutes). I also talked to Ryan about going to Christine's dance show tonight, even though it costs $10 I shouldn't be spending (still better than homework).

Not getting internet stupid. Not doing my work- really stupid. Realizing that not doing my work is stupid and continuing to not do it- profoundly stupid.

Also, there are hot guys everywhere I look. Walking around campus, on the bus, at the grocery store, in my psych class, in my design classes, in the computing commons. They're all hot and I can't have them (of course they're probably all 19 so it doesn't matter). I know I shouldn't be venting my sexual frustration here, especially since I have given you no interesting posts lately, so I'll keep it at that.

I really did mean to post about my design geekiness. I know I will never get into it as much as I want to, so I'll just say something now before I forget what I've been meaning to say for the past few weeks.

Visual Communications
A lecture a couple of weeks ago from Mookesh: "Have an affair with your materials. Love them. Know them. Trust them. Treat them gently." He went on about us having an affair with our book binding materials for a good 5 minutes. "Treat them like a lover. If you get angry with your materials, they won't work for you. Touch them lightly. Kiss them. Stroke them." and so on, and so forth. It was much better than I have recounted here, but you get the point. I seriously got all giddy and excited during this lecture.

Typography
Is it wrong that my new favorite book is a typography textbook? I find it incredibly exciting. I wish I could explain how the word 'exciting' is used in the design program. I can't really put it into words, but it means something a little more special here than it does in general. I don't have the typography book with me, but I want to quote from it for you. I will in the future. Trust me, it's great. (okay, maybe you won't think it's as great as I do, but humor me- I'm in love with my art)
